Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026

Algorithm Riders Ltd. (“Algorithm Riders,” “Story Spark,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates storyspark.ai and the Story Spark platform (together, the “Service”), through which is an AI book creation and publishing platform where you can create personalized AI-generated storybooks, novels, memoirs, comic books, and search-and-find books, order them as premium hardcover products, and manage your account and subscription. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you. It should be read together with our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Who We Are

Algorithm Riders Ltd. is the controller responsible for your personal information under this Privacy Policy. You can reach us at info@storyspark.ai.

Eligibility and Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users who are at least 13 years old, consistent with our Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@storyspark.ai so we can investigate and, where appropriate, delete it.

A parent or guardian may use their own account to create a book featuring a child — for example, a personalized bedtime story. In that case, the account holder, not the child, is our user, and any name, description, or photo supplied for personalization is used solely to generate and fulfil that order as described below.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us:

  • Account information: your name, email address, password, and age or date of birth if requested at signup.
  • Order and billing information: shipping address, billing address, and order details. Your payment card details are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processor; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Content you create: story prompts, text, character names and descriptions, dedications, and other creative input you provide to generate a book.
  • Photos and images: if you upload a photo, for example to personalize a character's appearance, we collect and process that image and any personal information it contains.
  • Communications: information you provide when you contact customer support, respond to surveys, or otherwise communicate with us.

Information we collect automatically:

  • Usage data: pages and features you use, time spent on the Service, and books created or viewed.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and analyze how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Service functions.

Information from third parties: if you sign in or interact with the Service through a third-party platform, we may receive information from that platform as permitted by your settings with them. Our payment processor and print/fulfillment partners may also share limited order-status or transaction information with us.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including generating your personalized books using AI tools;
  • Process, print, and ship your orders, and communicate with you about them;
  • Create and manage your account and subscription, including billing and renewals;
  • Respond to customer support requests and communicate with you about the Service;
  • Send you marketing communications where permitted, which you can opt out of at any time;
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve the Service, including troubleshooting and understanding usage trends;
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

How We Use AI to Create Your Books

Story Spark uses artificial intelligence tools, including third-party AI service providers, to generate story text and illustrations based on the prompts, descriptions, and any photos you provide. This means the creative content and images you submit are transmitted to and processed by these AI providers solely to generate your book. We do not permit our AI providers to use your content to train their general-purpose or publicly available models, and we require our AI providers to handle your information under contractual confidentiality and data protection terms. We may retain the content you submit and the books generated for you in order to provide the Service, allow you to reorder or edit a book, and to comply with the Refund Policy in our Terms of Service.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share personal information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, AI-based content generation, cloud hosting and storage, printing and fulfillment, customer support tools, analytics, and email or marketing communications. These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety reasons: where required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Story Spark, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time of collection or with your consent.

International Data Transfers

Algorithm Riders Ltd. is based in the United Kingdom, and we work with service providers located in other countries, including the United States. Where we transfer personal information outside the UK or European Economic Area, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Order and billing records are generally retained for the period required by applicable tax and consumer protection law. You may request deletion of your information as described in “Your Rights and Choices” below, subject to the exceptions described there.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • Delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions — for example, information we need to retain for legal, tax, order-fulfillment, or fraud-prevention purposes, or as described in the Chargebacks and Payment Disputes section of our Terms of Service;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your information;
  • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal; and
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us.

If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, these rights arise under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, and you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). If you are a resident of a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, or Virginia), you may have similar rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising; as noted above, we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@storyspark.ai. We may need to verify your identity before completing your request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law, and in any event within 30 days where no shorter period applies.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on our Website and updating the “Last updated” date above, and, where required by law, by providing additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
